Hi, I’m Lauren Wilson, the Exhibitions Manager. I deliver the planning and presentation of the exhibitions and events programme through Humber Street Gallery. This involves working closely with some amazing artists to produce new work as well as developing events and public programmes relating to the exhibition. I’m driven by working with artists and audiences to challenge myself, share experiences and discover new ways of navigating the world.

After graduating with a degree in Illustration from Cambridge School of art I spent time developing my own artistic practice whilst working for galleries and various charitable organisations in every capacity from Learning and Engagement, Digital Production, Marketing to Front of House.

I’m proud of the fact I’ve had opportunities to work on some really exciting and diverse projects over the years which has seen me get up to all sorts from working with primary school children to make paint brushes from sticks, to helping put on gigs in libraries.

I still make my own work, but my newly found passion for gardening (AKA getting muddy and trying to figure out what’s still alive) is starting to take over my weekends – as well as my role as a trustee of film charity, Hull Independent Cinema.
